INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES

RATIONALE

A double period (80 minutes) will be suitable to cover all three objectives for lesson 1 of this unit. For objective 1, students will watch a short video to understand the concept and definition of marketing research, followed by a class discussion using relatable business examples from Trinidad and Tobago. A short Kahoot quiz will also be used to reinforce key terms. Objective 2 will be done through a case study and a match-up game activity, where group work and discussion will be used to assess the limitations and benefits of a business scenario. The double period will ensure all objectives including the affective objective are achieved. These objectives link directly to the unit goals: understanding the purpose (Unit Objective 1), evaluating benefits and limitations (Unit Objective 4), and reflecting on ethics (Unit Objective 5).
